About Viridian
A small boutique web studio in Peru, Illinois.
Scott's journey started out as a musician who needed a way to make a living on the road, so he taught himself to code. That turned into a career as a lead software engineer at a Fortune 50 company, where he learned how to engineer and design websites and applications the right way and to build strategies tied to real business goals.
He liked the work, but it took too much time from what mattered most: his family and his music. So in 2025 he started Viridian Web Studio to help businesses, bands and entrepreneurs get beautiful websites that actually bring in work. Today he works from Peru, Illinois, helping owners and creatives in the Illinois Valley and beyond, while still making music and enjoying every moment of family time with his wife and three children.

What should I budget for a custom website?
Most custom websites with us fall between $2,500 and $20,000. Where your site falls depends on the scope: how many pages it needs, what it has to connect to, and any custom functionality. You’ll get a fixed-scope quote before kickoff, so you know the price before any work starts. If your budget is tighter, we can recommend a smaller phase-one build that you can grow from instead of locking you into a large commitment out of the gate. How our pricing works
How long does it take?
A typical build takes 2–6 weeks from kickoff to launch: less for a small brochure site, more for a larger site with more complexity or multiple locations. We’ll give you a real timeline with your quote.
Do I need to write everything myself?
No. We guide you with simple questions and help shape the words. Bring what you have and we’ll fill in the gaps together.
Will people find me on Google?
Every site launches with local search basics in place. Nobody can promise rankings, but we make sure Google can understand exactly what you do and where.
Why don’t I just use Squarespace, Wix or Webflow instead?
Page builders are easy to start with, and for plenty of people they’re a fine choice. That low barrier is also the catch: a lot of those sites end up looking like everyone else’s template and don’t do much to bring in work. We build fast, secure static sites with Astro, and Shopify stores when you’re selling online, designed around your business instead of a template. Get started →
